The Sauerland Museum is, culturally speaking, the showpiece of the town. Especially when, after the most recent renovation, it has become part of the Museum and Culture Forum of South Westphalia and therefore brings with it an even greater range, appeal and, most notably, important exhibitions. Optimally situated with the historic old town centre to the one side and the Ruhrstraße (the street our hotel is on) to the other side, it is within excellent reach of our hotel.
The Sauerland Theatre is the most well-known theatre in the town of Arnsberg. Many small and individual stages can, however, also impress with creatively performed plays. These, to name the most notable of them all, are the Theatron Theater, the Kulturschmiede, the Spielwerk and the Arnsberg Women’s Theatre Ensemble.
Sport and nature are closely connected in Arnsberg and are best experienced together. If starting from the source of the Ruhr River in Winterberg, it is possible to reach Arnsberg in one day of cycling along the Ruhr Valley Cycle Path and land directly in our garden behind the hotel. Our hotel lies in an unbeatable location. We have created a fitting arrangement for you, the Expedition Ruhr Valley Cycle Path, so that you can enjoy your stay to the fullest. Anyone who would like to stay a few more nights in Arnsberg also has the opportunity to take a day trip on one of the many cycle paths and explore the surrounding lakes of Möhnesee, Sorpesee or Hennesee.
If you wish to swap your bicycle for a pair of walking boots, then Arnsberg is also a wonderful place to walk. Surrounded by the Arnsberg Forest, there are many different tours on offer along the Arnsberg Aussichtsroute (scenic route), the premium hiking trails Waldroute and Höhenflug or in the Kurfürstlichen Thiergarten.
